Most good ideas stem out of necessity. That is how the EasyListCreator.com site came into being.

For my wife and I, we go to the grocery store together most of the time. During the week, as we run out of food items, we like to add it to the “grocery list.” Typically, it is a list on our smartphones (each having our individual list) or on a piece of paper left in the kitchen. This didn’t seem to be the best way for us to merge our two lists into one when it came time to go to the grocery store.

Besides a grocery list, we would make shopping lists for most stores we frequent. So we had a Target/Walmart list, a Lowe’s list, Petsmart list, etc. For us to keep separate lists (on our smartphones) just wasn’t working.

Being a web developer, I decided to start from scratch and create the easiest, most simple list creator that anyone can use. Whether it is a shopping list, grocery list, a to-do list or any type of list, it had to be easy to create.

EASY: I had to make this list the easiest list creator that exists. It’s so simple. You click the “New List” link and give your new list a name. Then select to add a category (perfect for grocery lists) which you can then add items under that category, or select to just add items (perfect for to-do lists). That’s how easy it is! Take a look at the demo list to see how it works and tap/click items to view more information. There are other features, for instance, take your grocery list to the grocery store. As you add items to your cart, select “hide” that item in your list. If you “hide” an item, then before the next trip to the grocery store you can “show all hidden items.” That keeps you from having to add grocery items into your grocery list every week.

SHARE: Being able to share a list with one or more people was one of the more important features I wanted to implement in the EasyListCreator.com site. Once you create a list, you have the option to “share” that list with others. Each person you share the list with will have the ability to edit the list as well. With this feature, during the week my wife and I can add items to our grocery list or any list we share. The items we add or remove from a list are reflected immediately on the other’s list.

MOBILE: Of course I had to make sure this was a mobile (smartphone) friendly app. You can either use your desktop, laptop, iPad, Surface (or other tablet) or your smartphone to create your lists. I find that my wife and I create and edit our lists mostly on our smartphones. Especially since a lot of our lists are shopping lists. So we take those lists with us via our smartphones to whichever store we visit, so we can check off the items we need as we shop.

SORTABLE: A nice-to-have feature is the fact you can sort your list categories and/or items with simple drag and drop either with your mouse or your finger on your smartphone or tablet. So I make sure on my to-do list that the most important thing I need to do is at the top of my list.

Those are the reasons I decided to create the Easy List Creator. It came out of a necessity in mine and my wife’s daily life. Once I created the Easy List Creator, I wanted to share it with others in the hopes that this easy list tool would also make your daily life easier as well.
